NOTARY SERVICES AND IDENTIFICATION

THE ACT OF NOTARIZING A DOCUMENT INVOLVES CONFIRMING THE SIGNER’S IDENTITY, HENCE THE SIGNER’S PRESENCE BEFORE THE NOTARY IS MANDATORY.

The identity of the signer must be sufficiently established for our notaries to accept the document. The identification that is shown must be current or have been issued within the last five years. Any of the documents indicated in the section below titled “Accepted IDs” may be presented to the notary public in order to establish the identity of the signer.

THE ONLY OPTION AVAILABLE WHEN THE SIGNER OF A DOCUMENT IS UNABLE TO PRESENT A VALID ID IS TO USE TWO CREDIBLE IDENTIFYING WITNESSES TO CONFIRM HIS IDENTITY. THESE WITNESSES MUST PRESENT THEIR OWN IDS.

Only one witness is required to prove the signer’s identity if the notary knows one of the two witnesses personally.

THE SIGNER OF A DOCUMENT MAY SIGN BY MARK WHEN THEY ARE UNABLE TO WRITE THEIR NAME.

Two witnesses must write their names as witnesses on the document and attest to the signer’s signature. The notary provides a thorough explanation of the process at the time of signing.

APOSTILLE, AUTHENTICATION AND LEGALIZATION OF DOCUMENTS

Our company efficiently manages the entire Apostille procedure for documents used abroad. The Apostille procedure, which just requires the Secretary of State and notarizing the document, is sufficient for the Hague Convention signatory nations. However, interacting with the embassy of the nation where the documents will be used, the Department of State in Washington, and the local Chamber of Commerce are frequently part of this process for nations outside of the Hague convention. If you have any questions concerning the nation to which your document will be transmitted, please contact us at 215 668 1938

Notarization is not required for all documents requiring an Apostille. If they do, we shall come to the location of your choice to notarize. We can perform the process via mail if they don’t need to be notarized and if it’s more convenient for you.

A list of some documents that need an apostille is provided below:

  • Marriage, birth or death certificates
  • Powers of attorney
  • Certificates to foreign government
  • Free sale certificates
  • Commercial documents
  • Shipping documents
  • FDA, medical or pharmaceutical documents
